CRITERIA FOR CONFIRMATION

(applicable for Marathon & Half Marathon race categories)

Your entry to the marathon / half marathon race category will be confirmed based on the criteria given below. Please go through all details mentioned in this overleaf and the Application Form before submitting your application.

In order to apply for either of the criteria, you must have fulfilled the requirements given under each criterion:

(i) A Timed Runner

  • You must have participated in an AIMS ratified/recognised distance running event or a distance running event which was conducted under the aegis of a State/district athletics association or sports control board affiliated to the Athletics Federation of India, conducted within the period of 18 months preceding race day, i.e. 18th January 2015.
  • Timings recorded in the running events mentioned on the Timing India website (http://www.timingindia.com/calendar.php) and from timed races mentioned in race calendar on http://procamrunning.in/content/runners-calendar can also be considered by the organizers to qualify for the marathon/half marathon race category. Timings of relay races/events will be considered only for half marathon race category if the distance covered by an individual runner in the relay race is 10km or above. 
  •  If applying for Marathon (42.195 km):

    • Timings of only marathon (42.195 km) and half marathon (21.097 km) distances will be considered to qualify for the marathon race category.
    • To be eligible for this confirmation under this criterion, your latest timing certificate needs to show your finish time as specified below:

    • Submit a photocopy of the timing certificate acquired by you at the running events (as mentioned above) along with your application form. 

    Note: The qualification timings mentioned above are only to consider eligibility for confirmation in the marathon race category. However, on race day, SCMM 2015 timing results, ranking and online certificates will be generated only for runners who complete the marathon distance within 6 hours and 30 minutes from start time.

  • If applying for Half Marathon (21.097 km):

    • Timings of only marathon (42.195 km), half marathon (21.097 km), 15 km run and 10 Km run distances will be considered to qualify for the half marathon race category.
    • To be eligible for this confirmation under this criterion, your latest timing certificate needs to show your finish time as per the age and gender category specified below:

    * Note: Recognized timed relay races, where an individual runner covers a distance of minimum 10km, will be considered to qualify for Half Marathon race category only.

    The Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon does not endorse any race as an official qualifier and no advantage may be sought by any participant claiming a finish time from any such race. Applications for marathon and half marathon race categories of SCMM shall be accepted subject to the registration rules and regulations mentioned on the event website only. 

(ii) Woman Runner (CLOSED)

( Applicable for Half Marathon race category only )

To encourage women runners who do not qualify under the Timed Runner criterion, there are a limited number of running places reserved for such women applicants. Such applicants are not required to submit a timing certificate along with their application form, however all other mandatory requirements for submitting an application form need to be fulfilled. Please refer to Application Form for such requirements.

(iii) Outstation applicants*

* not applicable for applicants residing in Mumbai city limits, Navi Mumbai and Thane.

To encourage participation from across the country, there are a limited number of running places reserved for outstation runners. However an outstation applicant essentially needs to fulfil the criterion of a Timed Runner. At the time of registration, applicant needs to submit a copy of his/her driving license/passport/Voter’s ID/ Aadhaar Card, under this criteria. (Pan card will not be accepted)

(iv) #Overseas applicants

# applicants residing outside India

To encourage overseas participation, limited number of running places have been reserved. However an overseas applicant essentially needs to fulfill the criterion of a Timed Runner.

Charity Running Places: NGO’s registered with the Event’s official charity partner, United Way of Mumbai, have been allotted limited charity running places which can be availed of by applicants who do not fall within any of the above mentioned confirmation criteria. These running places will be available with the respective NGO’s at a premium from 1st August 2014. You may log on to the website – www.unitedwaymumbai.org/marathon for more details.
